In a band? Want to sell your schwag/merch/stuff on the Secret Oktober site? We can sell your stickers, pins, patches, t-shirts...pretty much anything you see for sale on our site, could be sold with your band logo(s) on it. Here's the deal:

  1. YOU NEED TO BE IN A BAND, OWN YOUR OWN MUSIC AND LOGO, AND HAVE A WEBSITE. It should go without saying, but we'll only sell your band stuff, if it's for YOUR band. Send us an email with a link to your band's website, and tell us you'd like to sell your merchandise on Secret Oktober. If your band is not goth, punk, rockabilly, or at least just plain weird, it probably doesn't make sense for either of us. There are kickass string quartets and jazz ensembles out there, but their stuff wouldn't sell on our site.
  2. WE SEND YOU A COPY OF THE CONTRACT. We sell on consignment, which means you send us the stuff, we send you your cut (two thirds) only after it sells.
  3. YOU SIGN THE CONTRACT, AND SEND IT TO US WITH YOUR STUFF. NOTE: don't send us your stuff unless we've already gone through steps 1 and 2. Unannounced stuff showing up on our doorstep will not be put out for sale. If you live in the Austin area, you can bring your stuff in person, but again, only if we've communicated BY EMAIL first.
  4. YOU GET TWO-THIRDS OF THE SALE PRICE. We suggest a retail price of $19.99 for t-shirts, $2.50 for patches and stickers, $1.50 for pins. Two thirds of this will be yours once it sells.
  5. GIVE US A LINK TO YOUR WEBSITE. It is best if your link includes a streaming MP3, so someone looking at your merch on our site can click on the link to hear what you sound like. This way people who've never heard of you may end up buying your stuff.
  6. YOU PUT A LINK TO OUR WEBSITE ON YOURS. You put a link to www.secret-oktober.com on your website to help send people to our site. Yeah, I know, the people at your site already know about you, but because every other band will be doing this also, sending their fans to our site where they can also see your stuff, everybody wins out of this rule.
  7. ONE LAST THING TO CONSIDER. If you give a bonus CD (with t-shirt) or CD single (with something cheaper like a pin or patch), it will sell better. I know, you wanted to sell the CD itself. Hey, it's better than having people go to some site in the Netherlands or Russia or who knows where and ripping it for nothing. Seriously, consider giving a free CD as a bonus for anyone who buys your stuff. Just send the CD's along with the stuff, and let us know which kind of stuff each CD goes with. Like "the full length CD goes with the t-shirt, the CD single with the blue cover goes with the pin, the CD single with the red cover goes with the patch", that kind of thing. This part is entirely optional, but your stuff will probably sell better if you do it.
  8. BUT WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND?! If you change your mind at any time, let us know and you can set up a time to come pick up your stuff. Again, don't show up unannounced and demand your stuff back, because we don't want to give it out to anyone who shows up and claims to be you. But if you change your mind, we can work out a time and place to get your stuff back to you.
